Serpentine Pavilion
The theme of this pavilion is light. The structure consists of lamellas which are arranged radially in a circular form. Towards the top, the body tapers conically. The wooden slats create an intriguing play of warm light inside. With its two self-contained bodies, the pavilion is intended to symbolically illustrate the contrasts of light and shadow, of openness and closedness. From the outside, the body appears largely opaque. On the inside however, the lines of sight converge at one point in the center of the pavilion where one can look out freely, without restriction, in all directions. This point is marked by a podium, which can also be used as a stage during events. It is naturally illuminated by a skylight and thus highlighted even more.
